Loud and unrelenting, G_a_mksimoon's first full-length LP "Gyiin Naxnox" (Feeding the Supernatural) showcases the trailblazing ability of Gitga'at songwriter Wil Uks Batsga G_a_laaw (Jeremy Pahl) to fuse pre-colonial musical stylings to hard-hitting fuzz rock. Ts'msyen (Indigenous to the Pacific Northwest Coast of North America) worldview and culture meets epic 3-piece rock and roll with echoes of early punk rock and doom metal bands of the 70's and 80's in a powerful and authentic statement against colonialism. Gyiin Na_xnox contains multi-part epics spanning traditional melodies and rhythms, clips of field recordings from Sm'algya_x-speaking Elders of the Ts'msyen community, Sabbath-style sludge and doom, and virtuosic street-level punk and roll.
